A Girls’ Day event is held at the BGI every year. Here, High School girls from Bayreuth are being instructed by Doctoral Researcher Nicki Siersch in the diamond anvil cell laboratory at the BGI. Dr. Catherine McCammon, together with other colleagues such as Dr. Tiziana Boffa Ballaran (also pictured above), invited young participants on a “Journey into the Earth”, with activities on diamond anvil cells, earthquakes, crystals and volcanism.

This year, Dr. Catherine McCammon, together with other BGI and IRTG colleagues, invited eight young participants to a “Journey into the Earth”, with activities on volcanism, earthquakes, crystals and diamond anvil cells.
